I just finished the first unit. Tip: I sent home a 'supplies needed' letter for some of the things our school didn't have using the supply list and that helped a lot. The kids loved the unit, and had strong conversation and academic vocabulary in their responses. The book says it's gradual release, so I'm looking forward to the growth in the next units. California Science Center complimented us on our notebooks!
