About Google Slides
Where do I find your Google Slides?
You can find our Google Slides and Digital Resources in our SlideShop on our site.
How do I download Google Slides?
- Choose a product from our SlideShop and open the product page.
- Follow the instructions provided online.
- You may be prompted that a download is beginning.
- Check your device’s Downloads folder. It may be a single PDF or a ZIP file. (If ZIP, extract it. For instructions on how to do this, see the Requirements for Google Slides section.)
- Open the Product PDF Instructions.
- The first or second page of the Product PDF Instruction will contain links to copy or download copies of the product, as well as provide important information such as the terms and conditions for using this content.
Can I edit Google Slides?
Your ability to edit and interact with our Google products will be based on a product-by-product basis. Many lessons and activities may be made to follow specific learning programs and may not be customizable outside of their parameters. Conversely, other content may be made more open-ended with the teacher’s creativity in mind, allowing changes in images, fonts, and more.
Can I share this resource with another teacher or friend?
The license for this resource may only be used within one classroom. In order to acquire another license, the resource must be downloaded again from our website.
Can these Google Slides be used in Google Classroom?
Yes! Once you have copied the native Google files into your drive and uploaded the non-native Google files into your drive, you can start to create assignments in your Google Classroom and attach those resources to your assignments. Depending on the settings you choose for the assignments, students can also turn in these assignments to be graded.

Requirements for Google Slides
- Google Account: You must have an account with Google. You can either have a personal account or an account that has been created for you through an organization such as your school or workplace. (Note: if you have multiple accounts, make sure that you are logged into the account that you wish to download Google products into before copying content into your Google Drive. You may also be signed into multiple Google accounts at once.)
- Internet Access: In order to copy or download resources, your device must have an active connection to the internet.
- Device Compatibility: Because Google software is web-based, most smart devices and browsers are equipped to handle Google Workspace applications. To be sure your device is capable, try running these applications on your browser prior to purchasing any product. Google also offers downloadable applications for tablets and smartphones. This is often a more optimized experience for these devices. However, it is ultimately the user’s preference.
- PDF Reader: Links for Google Slides are provided in a PDF Instructions file. Adobe Acrobat Reader is free to use and download and is highly recommended. Many browsers, ebooks readers, or other apps already on your device may already provide you the feature to read PDFs, and installing another app may not be necessary.
- ZIP File Extractor: Some larger products may require a zip file extractor. A zip file is a folder of files that has been compressed together into a single package. This single package—called a ZIP file—is smaller in size and is faster to transmit over the internet. However, in order to use the files inside the ZIP file, they must first be "unzipped." A zip file extractor will do this for you. Windows and MacOS come with a ZIP extractor and do not require additional software. Tablets and smartphones may require additional software to open ZIP files. The need for a ZIP file extractor will vary from product to product.
Native Google Files vs. Non-Native Files. What is the difference?
Google Workspace is a collection of web-based applications created by Google for productivity. Each application is Google’s own unique code base. Files created to run in apps in Google Workplace are made in file formats specifically for these applications. While these apps can understand or read file formats from other applications, they are native and will not upload directly into Google apps without manual direction from the user.
For example, a Google Doc is a file format native to the Google Docs app. The Google Docs app can directly copy a Google Doc file from one drive into another. However, a Microsoft word file is not native to the Google Docs app. So while the Google docs app can open the Word file, read it, and import it, the Google Docs app will not directly copy a Word document into Google Drive. Instead, the user must manually upload the Word doc as a separate file or convert the Word document into a Google doc and then save it to the Drive that way. The same is true with other productivity apps that have common features such as spreadsheets (Google Sheets and Excel) and slideshow presentations (Google Slides & Powerpoint).
