This resource is directly related to its literature equivalent and filled with a variety of cross-curricular lessons to do before, during, and after reading the book. This reproducible book presents an exciting approach to teaching well-known literature! It includes sample plans, author information, vocabulary building ideas, cross-curriculum activities, sectional activities and quizzes, unit tests, and many ideas for culminating and extending the novel.

I own quite a few of literature guides from TCM. As always, the 10-question Quiz Time pages can be used in a variety of ways, from guiding comprehension to assessments. Key vocabulary words are included, as are a number of enriching activities that tie in with the book. The activities for Shiloh are, in my opinion, generally more long-term and geared to the higher-level student. There is one hands-on cooking project, but the rest seem to fall in the "research & write" category. This will make a good supplement for your literature study and there is a lot from which to choose. The quality is excellent. I gave it three stars because it lacked the hands-on arts-based activities I was hoping for. If you are looking for something more along the lines of research and writing, you will find a lot to like about this book.
